This blog has been something that has been in my mind for quite a while, but I was never able to come up with a reason or unique content to warrant taking up space on the web. Well my friends, that is no longer the case and I hope that you join me and visit us often to get the latest news and updates from the world of the Student Labor Action Project (SLAP for short), which is a joint project of Jobs with Justice and the U.S. Student Association.
In the coming weeks we will focus on what is shaping up to be an amazing and powerful National Student Labor Week of Action (NSLWoA). The National Student Labor Week of Action (NSLWoA), which began as a day of action attempting to link various campus struggles for economic justice across the country is a collaborative effort and a powerful statement of solidarity and action that students and workers have used in many different ways to advance their local, national, and global fights for dignity, justice, and respect.
In this blog we hope to be better able to communicate and share:
- amazing conferences, convenings, or other gatherings happening across the country
- Internships and Job Openings for student activists
- National Days of Action and how to get your campus involved
- Videos, images, and other media that can be used by student and labor activists
Additionally, we will share and highlight students, student & worker campaigns, allied organizations, and others who like Cesar E. Chavez and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, promoted a vision of a just and equal society.
Later friends,
cej
